Commitments
We ask that every NWWPA Board Member be willing to commit to the following terms. Please indicate your commitment to these expectations if invited to join the NWWPA Board of Directors.
I support and will work to further the mission of NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania: "We promote stable, vibrant communities by providing our neighbors with comprehensive homeownership services." *
I can commit to serving a two-year term and to regular and active participation in board and committee meetings. *
I understand that board members are asked to show leadership in financial giving. I can commit to making a personally meaningful financial contribution at least once each year of service. *
I understand that one of the primary roles of the Board of Directors is governance. This means I will work with other board members and executive staff to make policy and financial decisions that guide the organization in the best direction possible. *

I understand that I will often be privy to confidential information about the organization’s finances, personnel, customers, and other sensitive topics, and I agree not to disclose this information in any fashion, unless the Board of Directors has determined it is appropriate and will further the interests of the organization. *
I understand that if I have any “conflicts of interest,” I am required to inform the Board President in a timely fashion. A conflict of interest is any situation in which I might derive personal benefit from actions or decisions made in my capacity as Board Member, or even the appearance of such benefit. *
