Chief Executive Officer
The Organization
Founded in 1975 as the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, the newly rebranded Respect Together works with leaders and advocates across the U.S. to prevent and end sexual abuse, assault, and harassment. Respect Together’ s main divisions are the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) and the Pennsylvania Coalition to Advance Respect (PCAR), with partnerships including RALIANCE and the National Sexual Assault Conference (NSAC):
- PCAR: As the state coalition, PCAR partners with a network of 47 rape crisis centers that serve all 67 counties in Pennsylvania providing support to survivors and promoting safe, respectful communities. Promotes public policies that provide protections and services to victims of sexual violence, hold offenders accountable, and enhance community safety.
- NSVRC: Provides information and tools to organizations and advocates across the U.S. to end sexual abuse, assault, and harassment. NSVRC translates research and trends into best practices that help individuals, communities and service providers achieve real and lasting change.
- RALIANCE: A Washington D.C.-based partnership among NSVRC and two other leading national organizations, RALIANCE is committed to creating equitable, respectful, and safe environments and has awarded grants to the field, created a sport and prevention toolkit, public policy advocacy, created a behavior-based incident taxonomy, and consults with businesses and organizations about tracking and preventing sexual harassment, misconduct, and abuse.
- NSAC: Brings together nearly 2,000 advocates and activists invested in ending sexual violence. This annual conference, with hosts alternating between Respect Together and VALOR, provides opportunities to share information and resources, advance learning, develop new skills, and increase our capacity to assert the dignity of all people.
Collectively, Respect Together is working together to create a culture in the United States – and beyond – that values and upholds all people being treated with respect and free from all forms of sexual violence and oppression.
With a budget of $23 million, Respect Together is funded by a combination of grants from federal and state government agencies, private and public foundations and donations from corporations and individuals aligned with their mission. Receiving and managing funds from 20-30 different grant sources, Respect Together annually passes approximately 15 million federal and state dollars through to fund services provided by a network of rape crisis centers in Pennsylvania.
