Organization’s Mission: The mission of the Homewood Children’s Village is to improve the lives of Homewood’s children and to simultaneously reweave the fabric of the community in which they live.

Program Overview: The 3 tracks of the Bridge program are (1) pre-workforce exploration, goal setting, and life skills development; after completing the first track, students will choose either (2) career or technical school preparation, or (3) college preparation. The latter two tracks will be complemented by workforce experience via the Summer Learn & Earn program.

Position Summary:

  • Manage some aspects of the HCV’s Summer Learn and Earn program
  • Partner with Site Manager to integrate workforce development within Westinghouse High School
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with partners to provide resources, education and work opportunities for HCV students
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Duties and Responsibilities:

Learn and Earn/Partner 4 Work

  • Manage the Summer Learn and Earn program
  • Oversight of student recruitment, enrollment and onboarding activities, data collection, tracking, including Salesforce management and reporting
  • Oversight of workforce recruitment, orientation and monitoring, including timesheet management and payroll activities
  • Oversight of budget, purchasing, invoices, including P4W reporting

Bridge Program

  • Facilitate programming to address all 3 tracks of the Bridge program: pre-workforce exploration, career/technical school exploration, and college preparation.
  • Monitor tracking of BAG data (Behavior, Attendance, Grades) along with interventions provided or leveraged by the program
  • Supervise and support the work of a Bridge Program Coordinator, fulfilled based on funding availability
  • Incorporate youth voice into program design and decision-making processes.
  • Develop and maintain a list of engaged High School students which can be contacted for emerging opportunities
  • Collaboration and integration with HCV Advocates and other team members for program delivery
  • Plan and manage College trips/tours
  • Plan student and family engagement events

Youth Internship Program: Design and implement a robust youth internship program that provides work experiences throughout the school year.

CCAC Homewood-Brushton Center: Develop a partnership that results in academic offering for students, both year-round and during the summer where students can earn college credits.

David Carter Memorial Scholarship: Manage the outreach, selection, and disbursement process

APOST Quality Campaign: Serve as the HCV representative to participate in activities and maintain access to the benefits for Quality Campaign members.

General Support:

  • Supervise the work of interns, consultants, Public Allies and AmeriCorps members assigned to Bridge program projects.
  • Support existing activities and services provided to HCV children and families
  • Assist in the planning, development and implementation of new and ongoing activities and services provided to HCV children and families

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees

  • Proficient in Google Suite

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and three years of program management experience. In a high school environment is preferred.
  • Experience working in an urban school setting preferred
