JOB SUMMARY

Bridgeway Capital seeks a Business Assistance Program Manager to support Bridgeway’s
business assistance program design and delivery, specifically the Building Inclusive Development Program, Buy Back the Block Incubator, and Bridgeway Capital’s Creative Business Accelerator’s ORIGINS initiative. This is a full-time position. The Business Assistance Program Manager will report to the Managing Director of Programs.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Meet and communicate with entrepreneurs to assess their needs for Bridgeway’s businesses
    assistance services
  • Collaborate with Bridgeway’s various department teams to provide business assistance support
    to loan clients and prospects
  • Perform outreach in focused investment areas to identify new small business and Bridgeway
    loan prospects in need of support
  • Work with clients individually and in groups to strengthen their business skills, including
    facilitating guidance around planning, financial management, marketing, etc.
  • Collect data and invoices on both program and consultant team program delivery of business
    assistance services
  • Recruit and manage a team of 25+ consultants in business assistance delivery, including
    contract negotiation, impact reporting, client user experience, etc.
  • Process and document all requests for reimbursement for both subcontracted consultants and
    Bridgeway employees
  • Evaluate consultants for educational effectiveness and program alignment based on user
    experiences and entrepreneurial outcome metrics
  • Manage existing and cultivate new strategic partnerships with economic development and
    entrepreneurial support organizations
  • Work with Managing Director of Programs and Programs Team members to design new and
    innovative business assistance programs that help Bridgeway achieve its equitable economic
    development goals across its Southwest Pennsylvania territory and beyond.
  • Coordinate current program activities, including Buy Back the Block Incubator, Building Inclusive
    Development, ORIGINS, and other activities
  • Track and prepare updates of program budgets and impact progress by various funding sources
    Collaborate with Managing Director of Programs and Program Team members to make
    recommendations for program adjustments and new fundraising opportunities as necessary
  • Work with the Communications Department to develop and update program collateral, events,
    and communications that support client engagement and lead to program goal achievement
  • Provide regular communication of Entrepreneurship Hub policies and activities to Bridgeway
    staff, board, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Managing Director of Programs and Program Team members to build and
    maintain a CRM to an impact protocol to measure program reach and impact
  • Collaborate with Managing Director of Programs and the Development Department to identify,
    pursue, and secure new funding sources for programs

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

ALL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE BULLETS ARE REQUIRED UNLESS NOTED AS “PREFERRED”

  • 4-Year bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree in business or nonprofit administration preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of executive director level program experience, including experience managing
    personnel, budgets, and fundraising activities
  • 3 to 5 years of providing support to entrepreneurs and cultivating small business ecosystems
    Strong analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing circumstances and priorities
    Attention to detail
  • Able to objectively analyze situations and draw accurate conclusions based on logic and facts
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities and requests and schedule time and resources to complete
    tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Proficiency with personal computers and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
    and Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively under time deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with flexible schedule including some weekends and longer
    evenings for events as needed
  • Have experience working with diverse communities
  • Understand the nonprofit sector
  • Self-starter with strong initiative

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed at Bridgeway’s various office locations, but also across
Bridgeway’s Southwestern Pennsylvania territory in client meetings and community events. Commuting
and event attendance will be required, and candidates are expected to have access to consistent
personal transportation. Due to COVID-19, this position is currently fully remote, intending to return to
the office when possible.

Driver’s license and personal vehicle are preferred. This job description is not all inclusive and it is not

The person in this position needs to regularly sit, utilize manual dexterity and repetitive finger motion,

perception, and focusing ability. This position is primarily performed in an office environment with
occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Occasional driving throughout western
Pennsylvania is required, and candidates are expected to have a valid driver’s license and easy and
regular access to a car.
