DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT – GRANT WRITER (Part-Time Contracted Position)

RESPONSIBILITIES

•        Understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of our organization.

•        Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Development to write, assemble, edit, and submit accurate grant proposals and reports to a variety of funding organizations and foundations.

•        Maintain a complete schedule of application and reporting deadlines for all current and new funding opportunities.

•        Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of our organization, submitting all to upper management for approval.

•        Creatively source for new granting organizations and funding opportunities.

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

•        Commitment to ensuring equity and inclusiveness in a community of peers with diverse backgrounds and identities.

•        Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, structured, and persuasive content.

•        Demonstrated experience in grant writing with various individuals, foundations and/or corporations.

•        Flexibility and willingness to work independently in a changing, virtual environment.

•        Strong project management and organizational skills to manage details.

•        Adaptability, humility, and the desire to continuously learn and improve.

•        Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit discretion with sensitive information.

•        Bonus: Successful in preparing and submitting proposals, as well as willingness to learn and utilize grants management software.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS

•        This is a mostly remote, contracted position with some in-person meetings if necessary. Compensation is $25 per hour, provided for the work completed for each submitted grant. As a contractor, the selected candidate will not be eligible for benefits.
