For 40 years, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has mobilized the community of southwestern Pennsylvania to feed our neighbors in need and eliminate hunger. Over the course of the past year our mission has been more important than ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have positioned the Food Bank as the primary solicitor, storehouse and distributor of food to charitable organizations serving those in need. Today, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank provides more than 40 million pounds of food annually to those in need through more than 500 partner agencies.

Summary of Position:

The Digital Marketing Associate will assist in the execution of the Food Bank’s digital marketing strategies and other general communications tasks

Duties and Responsibilities:

Associate will help plan, develop and implement digital marketing content on behalf of the Food Bank. This position will work closely with the Digital Media Specialist to further develop and expand the Food Bank’s digital strategy and assist the Marketing and Communications department with other projects as needed. This position will begin as part-time (20hrs/week).


  • Research, plan, and publish content to the Food Bank’s social media channels
  • Answer messages on the Food Bank’s social media channels in a timely manner
  • Make updates to Food Bank website
  • Create comprehensive analytic reports for website and social media channels
  • Make recommendations for improvements to Food Bank’s digital channels
  • Plan and execute SEO tactics
  • Assist in graphic design for various projects
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 1-3 years’ experience in marketing, communications or related field
  • Experience with WordPress or other content management system
  • Demonstrated ability with Google Analytics, Social Media, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop
  • Demonstrated graphic design skill
  • Familiarity with CSS and HTML
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
