Landforce is a nonprofit social enterprise that supports people (individuals returning from incarceration, struggling with addiction, mental health diagnoses, who are homeless, or living in poverty) as they rediscover their potential. We thoughtfully couple workforce development training with environmental stewardship employment. Through their work with us, our crew members are unlocking their potential, and 91% of those who completed their tenure with us had job offers at the end of their tenure. Over the last two years alone, we have contributed 7,000 hours in green infrastructure installation and maintenance, 1,750 hours in tree and plant care, 4,300 hours building or maintaining trails, and 1,800 hours in other land stewardship tasks.
Landforce is looking for a full-time Land Stewardship Project Assistant who brings passion, knowledge, experience, and organizational skills to stewarding environmental projects. This position includes hands-on environmental stewardship, occasional crew supervision, and administrative-type support. They will assist the Director of Land Stewardship to manage logistical details, liaise with partner agencies to ensure project goals are met, and provide contract administrative support. This is a conservation-related position, requiring outdoor work, periodic crew leadership, assistance with planning and conducting training sessions, and ensuring safety guidelines and quality control expectations are met.
