Job Description: Food Pantry Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Programs and Services

Responsible for: Overseeing the operations of all North Hills Community Outreach Food Pantry services including 3 permanent locations in Allison Park, North Boroughs, Millvale and 3 mobile pantry locations.

Duties include:

  • Coordinate food pantry distributions at 3 NHCO locations and 3 satellite distributions through NHCO on the Go
  • Coordinate NHCO on the GO, NHCO’s mobile food pantry distribution, including liaising with host sites, creating NHCO on the Go’s schedule, doing outreach in targeted communities and managing the distributions themselves
  • Organize and oversee food donations from individuals and groups, including large donation projects such as Scouting For Food and Stamp Out Hunger
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure adequate volunteer presence at pantry locations during both distribution hours and at the Alison Park location during business hours
  • Manage volunteers as they sort and package donations, accept donations and distribute food to recipients at all of NHCO’s pantry locations
  • Work closely with the Garden Coordinator to increase the amount of produce distributed through all of NHCO’s food distributions
  • Maintain client records and provide timely submission of statistics to food pantry partners and other state/federal programs as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours: FT 40 hours/week, non-exempt

  • Evenings and weekends required to fulfill job responsibilities (food pantry distributions include three evenings per month, some Saturdays are required)

Pay Range: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour

Experience: Two years of professional experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Google Suite applications required, as well as accuracy with data entry.

  • Capable of managing multiple tasks with deadlines with ease and professionalism
  • English speaking with ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
  • Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate information
  • Eye-hand coordination and ability to operate computer keyboard, printer, copier and other office equipment
  • Prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds, physically challenging at times
  • Automobile for local travel between offices
  • Must pass Act 33/34 and FBI fingerprint clearances, and Mandated Child Abuse Reporting training
