STATUS: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
SCHEDULE / HOURS: Monday through Friday; Flexible to meet the needs of the organization

Partners For Quality Inc. (PFQ) is a private, non-profit organization based in Robinson Township. Partners For Quality provides administrative management to five subsidiary organizations that support local individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. PFQ’s management services include Fiscal (including payroll), HR, IT and Communications – thus allowing subsidiaries to focus on their day-to-day priorities. Our subsidiaries include Allegheny Children’s Initiative, Citizen Care, Exceptional Adventures, Milestone Centers and the Partners For Quality Foundation.  Through these subsidiaries, we provide community-based supports and services to 5,000 adults and children with intellectual disabilities and behavioral health challenges in Allegheny County.

The Partners For Quality Foundation, a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., conducts fundraising for all organizational services and supports.  Partners For Quality Inc. receives operating funds through various sources, private gifts, grants and special events helping the agency go “above and beyond” basic needs. The Foundation’s goal is to build and strengthen PFQ’s support resources to supplement government dollars.

The Director of the Partners For Quality Foundation will be responsible to the Chief Operating Officer for the leadership and management of the PFQ Foundation.


  • Responsible for all policies, objectives, and initiatives for the PFQ Foundation
  • Provide strategic vision and leadership to the Foundation, aligning Foundation efforts with the strategic plans of PFQ and its family of agencies
  • Actively work to expand prospect list. Develop and maintain community outreach, partnerships, and connections between PFQ, PFQ stakeholders, and the community at large.
  • Leverage donor database reporting to analyze donor trends and develop strategic donor solicitation plans using various mediums (events, annual appeal, direct mail, planned giving).
  • Responsible for grant-writing including research and data collection needed for grant submission and reports and developing a case for support
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with donors, foundation officers, and local philanthropic community
  • Develop goals and strategies for all fundraising campaigns, as well as Participate in all foundation committees
  • Coordinate the maintenance of donor database to measure fundraising performance against stated goals
  • Lead all aspects of fundraising eventsWork collaboratively with Fiscal Department to assure the fiscal integrity of the Foundation’s efforts with particular focus on the stewardship of grants and donations
  • Work collaboratively with PFQ Executive Director of Communications on public relations, media relations, and brand management
  • Responsible for administration of donation process including data reports, accounting procedures, and donor acknowledgments


  • Master’s Degree in Business, Non-profit Management, or Human Services and five (5) years progressive experience in fundraising, grant writing and event management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Non-profit Management, Public Administration, or Human Services and eight (8) years progressive experience in fundraising, grant writing. and event management Experience working with or fundraising for people with intellectual and/or behavioral health disabilities preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to think critically and systematically
  • Familiarity with the Pittsburgh philanthropic community
  • Excellent personal communication skills that enable successful face-to-face cultivation of donors
  • Excellent written communication skills that enable the development of powerful and effective fundraising materials
  • Experience with fundraising databases specifically Salsa/DonorPro
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive, Grant Professional Certified, or other fundraising/development certification preferred
  • Additional technical and management skills as required
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances
