Volunteers at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum feel a strong responsibility to preserve this part of Americana for future generations. We have endeavored to assemble a representative collection of the types of streetcars, interurbans, and special purpose equipment that have served the people of our region since the earliest street railways. With almost sixty years as an all-volunteer organization, the Museum built a strong foundation of volunteerism, which is a major component of its success.

The mission of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is to preserve and perpetuate its collection of historic transportation equipment, artifacts and archives and utilize the collection and other resources to provide an unparalleled immersive experience that brings the technology and culture of the Trolley Era alive through entertaining, educational and diverse programming. The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is currently engaged in a dramatic and exciting expansion program. It’s an exciting time to be involved…and where else can you have so much fun?
