The Director of Programs serves as a vital role in the oversight and management of PA Women Work’s programs. The Director of Programs will build upon past success and expand programs to ensure the organization’s services are meeting the needs of clients and reaching job seekers in the community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create annual program plans and timeline for activities in collaboration with Executive Director and Deputy Director.
  • Develop innovative program strategies for meeting annual goals and objectives.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations and logistics of PA Women Work’s programs to ensure effective and efficient performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among assigned programs.
  • Develop strategies for program expansion efforts based on community needs and strategic plan goals.
  • Manage and oversee plans to ensure goals for client recruitment, program completion and placement goals.
  • Develop program improvement strategies and solutions.
  • Provides oversight for program specialist, instructors, and program support staff to ensure quality and effective program implementation.
  • Creates industry-sector programming, including identification of curriculum, instructional requirements, industry certifications, requirements for program implementation, and supports for student success.

 Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, social work, or related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a leader with 5-7 years of experience managing successful nonprofit programs. Experience with launching new programs preferred.
  • Experience in career development is preferred.
  • Teaching, training or instruction experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in workshop and program development required.
  • Work that demonstrates success in developing effective partnerships and engaging effectively with multiple tiers of stakeholders.
  • Work that has demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage and delegate workload and work flow under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities in a complex environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-orientated and task-driven.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborative team player
