Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.

The Pittsburgh CLO, hailed as one of the nation’s premier regional theaters, is seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and customer service oriented individual to serve as a Manager of Individual Giving. A successful candidate will be an experienced professional with the ability to manage all facets of the individual giving program using a relationship focused and donor-centric approach. This individual will report to the Associate Director of Development and work collaboratively within the Development team to reach organizational fund raising goals. Interviews are projected to begin during the first week of June.

 What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage and implement a robust and creative individual giving strategy with particular emphasis on the Gene Kelly Producer’s Society ($1,500+ annual giving), cultivate and manage existing relationships, secure new gifts and oversee the delivery of comprehensive benefits and donor recognition program including concierge ticket service
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to increase the number of annual giving constituents, upgrade donor giving levels and provide exceptional donor stewardship
  • Conduct in-person visits and coordinate events with donors and prospective donors, develop and implement cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for each prospect, including ways to strengthen relationships and increase involvement of donors and prospects in CLO activities
  • Create solicitation materials for the individual giving program including, but not limited to letters, proposals, and emails to support fundraising efforts, with special attention to personalization of materials
  • Communicate with Marketing team to ensure CLO’s annual planning calendar includes individual giving initiatives and events
  • In collaboration with the Marketing team, create communication materials required to support the individual giving program including brochures, invitations, signage, e-blasts, website, newsletter, program ads, etc.
  • Manage the annual telefundraising program
  • Maintain appropriate administration systems to manage and track the individual giving program including daily use of the organizational database (Tessitura)
  • Provide regular reports and updates as to the progress of individual campaigns.
  • Represent the Development Department at periodic evening and weekend performances, meetings, and special events
  • Ensure that all individual donors are appropriately thanked and receive regular communication.
  • Assist with gift entry during absence of Development Data Coordinator and Development Coordinators
  • Maintain legal and ethical standards and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a representative of Pittsburgh CLO to increase awareness of the organization, its mission, and needs
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Associate Director of Development to advance the goals and objectives of the CLO and its development program

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years professional fundraising experience, including experience implementing an individual annual giving program, in a non-profit environment, with proven success in building long-term, donor centric relationships
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising, including demonstrated ability to set, track and meet, or exceed fundraising goals
  • A thorough understanding of annual giving, capital campaigns, and major gifts
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual gifts including major gifts and planned gifts
  • Demonstrated competency in writing, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills in order to build strong relationships with donors
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience in Tessitura or other donor-based database
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, professional demeanor and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and conflicting priorities successfully.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
