Position Title: Family Center Director
Location: Northside Family Center
FLSA: Exempt

General Summary:

The Family Center Director is responsible for the overall administration, management, and direction of the Family Center program. This individual is responsible for overseeing core program development. The Director of the Family Center will promote the mission and philosophy of Providence Connections, Inc. among staff, constituents and in the community. The Family Center Director adheres to the principles and standards of the family center. This role is vital to ensuring consistent, quality support for all the families we serve. This is a full-time position. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual Scope of Services for Allegheny County Department of Human Services and assure implementation and adherence to the Standards of Quality for Family Support
  • Supervise and evaluate Family Center staff, with heavy focus on the quality of work, support of families, and accuracy of file management in SYNERGY
  • Oversee development of all Family Programming in collaboration with other staff especially Family Program Coordinator
  • Assure that Principles of Family Support and Quality Standards are met and evaluated annually
  • Assure accuracy in all county, and board monthly, quarterly and yearly reports
  • Work closely with Parent Council to ensure governance function of the Family Center is active and inclusive
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, encourage staff development, and record core staff training in personnel files
  • Network with Family Center movement in Allegheny County by actively participating in Site Directors meetings, any other County gatherings as needed and other community organizations as appropriate
  • Review and approve payroll records on a regular basis
  • In collaboration with Director of Finance develop and monitor the annual budget for core services
  • Work closely with the Executive Director in developing proposed grants for core programming of Northside Family Center and prepare needed reports
  • Work closely with Development Manager to assure proper orientation and supervision of all large groups
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Executive Director

Center Leadership:

  • Participate in all leadership team meetings
  • Attend and participate in all major organizational fundraising events (i.e. Feast for Families and Golf Outing)

Education / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field required; Masters preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience in administration in human services agency
  • Clinical experience in mental health field helpful
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, management, written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills
  • National Sex Offender Registry Certification required
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Criminal History Clearance
  • FBI Clearance
  • National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) Verification Certificate
