Creating Community in a shared desire to keep kids safe.
Safe Families for Children-Pittsburgh Chapter hosts children in an extended family-like setting creating community between families and volunteers in a shared desire to keep children safe and families intact. We work with families who present a need and match them with volunteers who can provide child care (daytime or overnight up to three months) as well as offer connections to community services and tangible goods as needed.
Our Chapter has openings on the Leadership Council. The Leadership Council acts as a local version of a Board of Directors – providing direction, council and support to the Chapter Director. Safe Families for Children PGH is looking for someone with experience in Non-profit fundraising. We are looking to expand and diversify our donor base.
The Leadership Council meets on a quarterly basis on the first Monday of the month (March, June, September, December) from 6-8pm. Currently we utilize Zoom to meet. Terms are two years and members are not required to make financial contributions. Board committees meet as needed, typically once per month and often by telephone or video conference.
