Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge PA is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Development.   The Director will serve as the chief fundraising officer with responsibility to collaboratively set and achieve specific fundraising goals to support operational and project gift income needs including donor development, working closely and collaboratively with the Dean/President in designing strategic plans and implementation of the seminary’s vision in the overall Advancement efforts of Trinity School for Ministry and management of the Development office.

Principal Duties:  Responsible for major giving: develop major gift solicitation strategies; identify new major gift prospects; cultivate major gifts by building valuable relationships with prospects through visits; grow major gift donor stewardship; deepen relationships with current major donors. Assume responsibility for deepening relationships and soliciting gifts through visits and phone calls to alumni, churches, and potential recruits. Ensure that a comprehensive list of potential foundation prospects is created, and proposals, grant applications, and reporting are prepared with excellence and timeliness. Work with the Director of Annual Giving to design fiscal year modules of fundraising initiatives; trip visitations (how many and designated priority); development of new ways to tell the story of Trinity’s mission (with particular concern for using current students); and ways to build relational connections for TSM (developing new donors).  Develop and report metrics for face-to-face solicitations, discovery visits for all involved in securing major gifts.  Prepare department reports for weekly Dean’s Cabinet meetings.  Provide oversight and accountability for Development office members. Communicate fundraising progress and program growth with TSM trustees, Advancement Committee & Deans. Prepare and present reports to the Board of Trustees and Advancement Committee (three times a year) detailing fundraising strategies, goals and performance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  High relational capital and comfort with making major gift asks. Ability to write and speak persuasively.  Passion for and commitment to TSM. Flexibility to travel.  Strong Christian-based faith with the ability to sign and adhere to TSM’s Statement of Faith and Covenant. Knowledge of and experience with Development work.  High energy capacity.  Ability to think strategically and analyze results.  Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Proven success in fundraising and development.  Experience in all aspects of development including: growing and sustaining annual gifts, cultivating major donors and bequests, event design and execution, capital campaign feasibility, design and execution and preparation of communication materials for the above-mentioned.  Development staff management experience.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Anglican in faith.  Development experience in a faith-based organization and/or theological higher educational institution.  Proven track record of running a successful multi-million-dollar capital campaign and expanding a donor base.  Public speaking comfortability and experience.
