The Assistant Director for Budget and Finance in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences (DSAS) and College of General Studies (CGS) will have oversight responsibility for all financial accounting, budgeting, and reporting, and will partner with the Senior Director for Budget and Finance to oversee a team dedicated to creating an environment committed to process improvement. The Assistant Director will oversee all day to day accounting functions within both DSAS and CGS; develop and distribute detailed financial statements and budget variance analyses; and coordinate and manage the annual budget process. The position will work closely with and support the school’s Department Chairs, unit Directors and Division Administrators as well as their staffs to develop budgets in alignment with school-level goals and to oversee all internal audits and address all accounting and compliance issues. The Assistant Director will supervise fiscal staff and develop and implement training for fiscal personnel across the school. Must have 3-5 years of experience in a financial and accounting role, working with budgets and financial analysis, along with strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and strong proficiency in Excel required. May substitute any relevant experience for University Equivalency (Bachelor’s with 9 years of experience).
