This position is the Portfolio Director for Innovative Health Systems Initiatives (IHSI) for the School of Pharmacy’s Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU). This senior level position requires that the incumbent work in a highly independent manner to provide strategic leadership of a 10+ million dollar portfolio of projects and maintain and develop relations with high level external stakeholders and sponsors. The incumbent will be responsible for working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including direct report Deputy Portfolio Director and four Program Managers, to directly manage projects in the IHSI portfolio, including training and implementation projects in the areas of SBIRT, MOUD, and other innovations in addressing Substance Use Disorder and integrating physical and behavioral health practices in order to improve services to individuals. The incumbent will be responsible for: Strategic direction of the ISHI portfolio, through work with an interdisciplinary team in a collaborative, matrixed environment; Leading the development, design and implementation of public health policies, programs and interventions; Managing government grants and contracts, maintaining external relations, and problem-solve high level issues Utilizing the Systems Transformation Framework (STF) developed by PERU’s Director to guide implementation of all funded work and PERU’s operations; Developing, implementing and providing continual monitoring of strategic plans associated with IHSI projects; Researching, networking and determining funding opportunities for continued financial support associated with IHSI projects; Preparing grant proposals for submission to funding agencies by leading the writing and directing appropriate faculty and staff; Working with high level state entities to negotiate work to be conducted and communicate program progress, findings and needs; Facilitating related project contracts by evaluating collaborators, vendors, identifying terms and conditions, establishing scope of services and performance metrics; and Providing oversight and approval to faculty, staff and stakeholders on the development of study design.

Bachelor’s can substitute for a Master’s with equivalent high level work experience.
