The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement is seeking an Alumni Coordinator for the School of Nursing to join a progressive team within our Health Sciences Alumni Relations Department. Flexible hybrid and/or remote work opportunities may be available for this position. The Health Sciences Alumni Relations team seeks an energetic individual for an Alumni Relations associate to work in the School of Nursing. The incumbent will be expected to work with a high degree of independence for an integrated organization involving both alumni relations and fundraising and assume responsibility of existing alumni programs and student initiatives.

The candidate will deliver creative and enterprising suggestions to build new and enhance current programming. They will interact with directors and staff of PAE, Nursing and the University Alumni Association as well as senior administrators of the University. They will also understand the importance of interaction with and the engagement of all University alumni and students.

Responsibilities include event development and management, knowledge and maintenance of social network vehicles, database management and retrieval of data lists, mailings, maintaining alumni lists, working with the Nursing fundraising staff, stewardship activities, responding to alumni requests, inquiries, and needs; participation in and implementation of priorities, goals, objectives, and schedules based on the Dean’s overall strategic plans. They will develop, recommend, and implement new and innovative ideas to enhance all areas of the School of Nursing alumni relations.

The incumbent will possess full knowledge of computer programs and will manage work flow for communications, budgets, events, reports and all other duties as assigned.

Public speaking and the ability to travel 7-9 times a year is required. The incumbent will work closely with the dean, School of Nursing, Director of Development of School of Nursing and report to the Principal Director of Health Sciences Alumni Relations

Three to five years’ experience in alumni relations and/or development and event planning. Must have exemplary written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of alumni relations. Must have experience in management practices and data-based information systems. Particularly desirable is knowledge of the University system. Must work effectively in a team environment and be able to present information in a comprehensive, cohesive format. A bachelor’s degree to comparable experience. Proficiency in the applications/functions within the MS Office environment. Must have excellent verbal,computer and written skills.
