The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) is seeking a Director of Identity Networks and Special Projects to join our Alumni Relations Team. The Director is a direct report position to the Vice Chancellor, Alumni Relations that will be expected to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced alumni relations organization.

The Director will assume responsibility of existing identity-based alumni affinity networks, as well as launch and maintain new networks. This individual will manage, monitor, and control the budget and expenditures and prepare quarterly reports and updates. Using the Plan for Pitt, the Pitt Alumni Association strategic plan, and the recommendations made from the PAA’s Equity & Social Justice Task Force as guides, the Director will develop and execute an affinity network strategy that will enhance alumni engagement through a lens of equity, diversity, inclusion and justice.

This position will manage associated volunteers, activity, and communications. The incumbent has regular contact with senior level University staff and faculty, such as Directors, Senior Administrators, and Alumni Board Members, etc. In addition, the incumbent will serve as the primary PAA liaison to the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and maintains contact with several areas across the University as appropriate. Flexible hybrid and/or remote work opportunities may be available for this position.

PAE cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. As the hub for development and alumni relations efforts, PAE contributes to a bold, vibrant, and diverse academic community.

Master’s degree preferred, BA required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for a master’s degree.

Five years of relevant higher education, DEI, volunteer management, and event planning experiences. Experience working with diverse constituencies. The job requires exceptional communication, organization and database management skills.
