Title:  Venture Outdoors Again Program Coordinator
Reports to:  Program and Volunteer Manager
Location:  Pittsburgh, PA
Hours:  Full time exempt
Wage:  $40,000

This position will remain open until COB June 1, 2022 at which time qualified candidates will be contacted.   No phone calls or emails please.

The Venture Outdoors Again Program Coordinator reports to the Program and Volunteer Manager and supports the organization by coordinating and facilitating outdoor programming for seniors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and facilitate outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, kayaking, birding, chair yoga and more for community members ages 50 and over across the region
  • Recruit healthcare professionals to volunteer their time and expertise to the “Fit with A Physician” Program
  • Build and strengthen community connections with senior facilities and partners around the region
  • Work with partners to develop Virtual Senior Academy programming
  • Track grant program deliverables and write quarterly and final reports; ensure grant deliverables are being met
  • Assist in researching and writing grant proposals
  • Be an ambassador for Venture Outdoors
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications (can acquire upon hiring)
  • PA State Act 151 Child Abuse, PA State Act 34 Criminal Background Check and FBI Background check must be obtained and submitted prior to the first day of employment. Note: a finding on the criminal background clearances is not an automatic disqualification, but rather a conversation starter
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination Note: Medical and religious exemptions are accepted with written documentation (can provide upon hiring) 
  • Experience teaching or facilitating in a group setting
  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work on diverse teams or with a diverse range of people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environment
  • Ability to work well independently and be a part of a team
  • Ability to take initiative and produce results
