Allegheny County DHS provides social services that help children grow up safer and healthier, young adults to transition to adulthood, older adults to live independently, and neighborhoods to thrive. DHS also prevents and responds to crises--supporting people during their most vulnerable times.
DHS is the largest agency in Allegheny County government. With a budget over $1.3 billion, it serves more than 200,000 people a year, primarily through a network of community-based agencies.
