The Black Liberation Autonomous Collective is a Black gender-expansive youth-led collective located in Allegheny County. BLAC was founded in 2021 by Black youth that found a safe space with each other in the organizing scene. Even around other Black organizers, oftentimes our input and ideas as folks of trans experience was largely discredited. Due to this, we decided to uplift our own voices and with that the Black Liberation Autonomous Collective was born.
BLAC strives to prioritize siblings who are TGNCNB especially Black and Brown. The Black Liberation Autonomous Collective puts an intentional focus on relationship building, mutual aid, and social justice issues. BLAC is the one of two Black gender diverse youth-led organization in Pittsburgh and the first with transmasculine leadership.
