FISA Foundation is a charitable grantmaking foundation that champions equity, justice, safety and inclusion for women, girls, and people with disabilities, addressing the intersection with systemic racism that impedes progress for these populations in southwestern Pennsylvania. FISA Foundation cultivates relationships with grantees, partners, other funders, and community leaders, recognizing that relationships are as important as grants in advancing social change.
FISA believes that we cannot be effective in improving the lives of the most disadvantaged women, girls, and people with disabilities if we don’t commit to dismantling racism, ableism, sexism and other forms of oppression that are the root of many inequities and disparities we live with today. We believe in the mantra “Nothing About Us Without Us” and strongly value and support the leadership of disabled people, women and non-binary folks, and people of color.
FISA has a small, high-performing staff team and a board of 19 members elected for their skills and expertise to advance our mission and work.
