Fort Ligonier is a reconstructed fort and museum that educates about the French & Indian War. Formed in 1946, the site features the fort and museum with an impressive collection of related artifacts. Governed by a board of trustees and operated by eight full-time employees, the site sees approximately 27,000 visitors, including thousands of school students, who visit annually and learn about this conflict and its impact.
Braddock's Battlefield History Center is situated where one of the most significant battles of the French and Indian War, commonly known as "Braddock's Defeat," occurred on July 9, 1755. The Braddock’s Battlefield History Center (BBHC) is an affiliate of Fort Ligonier, with a full-time public engagement and operations manager, and shares all other professional staff positions with Fort Ligonier. Opened under Fort Ligonier’s management in 2019, the BBHC is governed by a separate board of directors and serves approximately 1,000 visitors annually.
