For over 30 years, Hosanna House, Inc. (HHI) and its staff have gathered and empowered the
children and families of Wilkinsburg, standing up for the voiceless in our community. HHI is a black-led organization with its founding CEO & President, Leon E. Haynes, half of its management team Black, and 75% of the staff People of Color. Rooted in justice and equity, HHI lives and breathes breaking the cycle of poverty and elevating the quality of life of all people.
Our network of campuses (the Wallace Avenue Community Center and Sherwood Event Center) provides direct services and event rental opportunities to over 30,000 people every year. Through partnerships with other organizations in our one-stop facilities, Hosanna House delivers essential health and human services to many Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) individuals from low to moderate-income households and areas.
Today, we help families in Wilkinsburg, one of Pittsburgh's most under-resourced suburbs and surrounding areas harness resources and resilience to overcome the continued impact of disinvestment, systemic barriers to opportunity, and generational poverty.
