The Human Services Center Mon Valley was created in 1982 under an initiative of the Allegheny County Commissioners. As a private, nonprofit 501c3 organization, the Center is owned and operated by the Human Services Center Mon Valley (HSCMV). Currently, more than 750 people receive services daily.
The HSCMV is responsible for the following:
Providing facility services including maintenance, construction and upkeep on behalf of tenants
Fundraising efforts to maintain operation for the Human Services Center, a crucial community asset
Coordinating the network of services to ensure a response to pressing and emerging needs across the Mon Valley
Offering community and outreach services to assist families and individuals to access the widest range of human services available through HSCMV, such as Turtle Creek Library, flu shots, community events, support groups such as AA, and 80+ other services
