The Learning Disabilities Association of Pennsylvania (LDA of PA), a registered 501c3 nonprofit headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, has been a driving force in fostering inclusivity and education equity. Serving as the official state affiliate of the Learning Disabilities Association of America, our organization has a rich history of addressing crucial educational disparities. At the heart of our mission are two impactful reading tutoring programs, which not only offer free training and paid tutoring opportunities but also provide vital reading lessons to students from underserved communities. Recognizing the significance of accessible STEM education, we have pioneered multi-sensory instructional videos for high school lab experiments, breaking down barriers to effective science learning. Our commitment extends beyond academics, as we understand the emotional challenges faced by students with different thinking patterns. To address this, we have implemented innovative approaches such as teaching life skills and boosting confidence through the avenue of improv comedy. Over time, LDA of PA's programs have left a positive mark on education, accessibility, and empowerment within our community.
