The Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO) is one of the oldest youth orchestras in the United States. Founded in 1945, PYSO has been educating and inspiring young musicians as well as dazzling local and international audiences with their performances. PYSO is an independent youth orchestra but has enjoyed an association with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra since 1962. PYSO’s home is at the world-renowned Heinz Hall, and our annual free concerts allow for all in our community to be inspired by music.
