The Reading Room Pittsburgh is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing childhood literacy by providing free books and reading resources to children ages 4 to 14 in historically underfunded communities. Through joyful, choice-based book access and community partnerships, The Reading Room empowers children to build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading. Founded in 2025, the organization meets kids where they are, including at community events, schools, childcare centers, and pop-up reading stations. The goal is to ensure that every child develops the agency they need to succeed in school, lead, and advocate for themselves.
