The Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) is an small animal shelter located in Eighty-Four, Pennsylvania about 25 miles South of Pittsburgh. The organization was founded in 1906. The newly built 10,000 foot shelter sits on five acres and on average serves over 6,000 animals in need a year through intakes, humane investigations, pet food bank, vaccine clinics, foster homes, spay and neuter clinics, and more. The organization currently has 25 employees and operates seven days a week serving the animals in need in Washington County, Pennsylvania.
