This position is responsible for the safe transportation of residents of the Oakmont and Verona area to select destinations. The Office Assistant & Driver will also clean and/or service the van, greet and check in guest, answer phones and prepare the Senior Center for daily activities. Expected to work as needed at a minimum of 16 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week.

  • Follow daily schedule to pick up and drop off of riders on the RCAC bus
  • Deliver meals on wheels to Munroe and Demor Towers and/or other areas as required
  • Oversee the safety of passengers during transport
  •  Maintain records of all daily checks of vehicle
  • Maintain records for, and ensure completion of, all scheduled maintenance according to owner’s manual
  • Maintain daily records of all runs
  •  Clean interior and exterior of vehicle on a regular basis, and re-fuel on a regular basis
  • Prepares the Senior Center site for daily activities by way of: moving tables and chairs, rearranging the room to fit the schedule for the day, and cleaning space as needed in between programs
  • Answers phones and greets RCAC guests as needed, takes down reservations for activities including programs, the bus, and congregate lunches
  • Pick up mail and check for outgoing mail at Riverview Community Action Center (RCAC) daily
  • All other duties assigned


  • Minimum requirements of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have a proven record of working harmoniously with older adults as well as with colleagues.
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with proof of auto insurance coverage (state minimum)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years driving experience
  • Experience in customer service preferred
  • Knowledge of the Oakmont and Verona area preferred

The working environment is performed in an office/center with frequent interruptions. Must be able to multitask and re-prioritize daily schedules to meet the demands of the day. Has daily contact with local senior citizens, their caregivers and family, as well as the public, funders, state representatives, vendors, and local business owners.

The work may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
