Job Summary 

This position is a temporary one year position to assist the Operations Team while permanent full time staff are developing and implementing a new ERP system. They will work closely with Warehouse Supervisor, Transportation Supervisor and Operations Manager to support the daily activities of the warehouse. 

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Daily checks of orders for accuracy 
  • Ensure that all staff are following proper procedures in order filling, receiving, product movement to maintain the most efficient operation possible 
  • Ensure that all product being distributed is the best possible quality 
  • Conduct daily checks of produce for quality. Assist in making determination on the disposition of the product such as distribution, needs re-worked or dump. 
  • Ensure that a safe, clean and orderly warehouse exists. 
  •  Constantly monitor performance to ensure that all staff are performing in the most efficient way and are following all established procedures  
  • Work with other Food Bank teams to ensure efficient distribution of Food Bank product.  
  • Maintain storage records of all non-inventory supplies and respond to requests for those items from other Teams/Depts 
  • Maintain relationship with all off site storage locations and generate all transactional paperwork including bills of lading and all transfer paperwork for product that is sent to those facilities, stored at those facilities, and transferred to Food Bank warehouse. 
  • Impress upon all staff the importance of following all safety procedures and reporting accidents 
  • Assist Transportation Supervisor in maintaining records including organizing end of the day paperwork such as trip sheets, invoices, and payments. 
  • Assist Operations Team with administrative duties when required 
  • Maintain effective communication with all staff, especially Ops team members including, Operations Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Transportation Supervisor, Operations Director and Safety and Compliance Manager. 

 Qualifications 

  • Multiple years’ experience in Warehouse management 
  • Experience performing a variety of warehouse functions 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook 
  • Ability to use order processing software 
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations 
  • Ability to direct people 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Knowledge of and experience operating a variety of material handling equipment, including riding pallet jack, reach truck and forklift 
  • Familiar with all aspects of warehouse and trucking operations 
  • Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds 
  • Valid Driver’s License
