The University of Pittsburgh's Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) is seeking a Director of Digital Communications to join a progressive team within our Communications and Donor Relations team. Flexible hybrid and/or remote work opportunities may be available for this position.
The Director of Digital Communications plays a key leadership role in marketing and communications within PAE. The Director establishes and leads a comprehensive suite of services, especially implementing, managing, and enhancing PAE's digital channels and tools, such as websites, email, alumni directories, and online giving and event registration forms. The Director combines strategic and tactical expertise in developing and leading digital marketing and communications initiatives supporting PAE's mission and goals and serving the fundraising and engagement needs of clients throughout the University and UPMC.
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Communications and Donor Relations, the Director is a senior partner in driving a digital presence that robustly supports PAE's ambitious engagement and fundraising goals before, during, and after a multi-billion-dollar comprehensive campaign. The Director leads a team of digital communications staff (including full-time employees, students, and temporary staff) in pursuing those goals, while ensuring internal organizational alignment and compliance with University and UPMC strategy and standards.
Experience with tools and systems such as Marketing Cloud, Salesforce, Drupal, and Encompass preferred.
PAE cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. As the hub for development and alumni relations efforts, PAE contributes to a bold, vibrant, and diverse academic community.

Bachelor's degree required. At least 5 years of experience in an intermediate or senior level professional and/or administrative position with management of people and/or projects.
Equivalent combination of education and transferable / relatable experience will be considered per University guidelines.
