Job Summary

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination of Community Empowerment Association, Inc.’s (CEA) Workforce Development and Training Program. The goal of the Program is designed to equip underserved youth and young adults with work readiness preparation and access to training leading to meaningful career pathways and sustainable employment. The Program Coordinator will work directly to ensure quality assurance of protocols and procedures and accurate reporting to the President’s Office and Executive Team and as required by the Workforce Development and Training Program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Program’s Team to maximize program outcomes
  • Provide ongoing assessment of program services delivered to program participants
  • Be able to identify gaps and make recommendations to mitigate absenteeism and ensure retention
  • Be able to assess corrective action and make necessary modifications to ensure goals and objective of the program
  • Staff training and supervision
  • Perform a random selection of program caseload to verify quality assurance
  • Serve as a representative of CEA to internal and external stakeholders in regards to program objectives and protocols
  • Assist in outreach, recruitment and case management of program participants
  • Assists in organizing job fairs and participates in job fairs, trade shows and appropriate community events.

  • Knowledge of tutoring, study skills training and instruction and evidence based dropout prevention and recovery strategies that lead to the completion of the requirements for a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent or for a recognized postsecondary credential
  • Knowledge of Financial Literacy education
  • Knowledge of leadership development skills and adult mentoring
  • In order to provide the highest level of customer service, this position requires a thorough understanding of the job search process and the area job market– job matching system, federal eligibility, Child Labor Laws, and other related items.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid Driver’s License and automobile


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or related field preferred with at least three to five years of experience working with youth and community based programs -OR- any combination of training and experience
  • Must have at least 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • Act 33 and 34, FBI, and mandated reporting clearances
  • The ability to work an adjustable work schedule to engage youths participation in evening and weekend events
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications are required including Microsoft Office
  • Suite, email and internet applications.
