The College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented individual to join the Marketing and Communications unit as an E-commerce Web Specialist. This position supports the operations of the College's centralized e-commerce ecosystem and is responsible for serving clients in the following key areas: development, testing, delivery, monitoring, support, innovation, training, and communication. Current clients in the ecosystem include Penn State Berkey Creamery, Penn State Extension, and an internal B2B solution. The E-Commerce Web Specialist reports to the Assistant Director of Web Strategy and Operations, and works closely with a team of web developers, content editors, and marketing specialists to develop, maintain, and optimize the e-commerce ecosystem. This position plays a critical role in detecting and troubleshooting site issues, working with external vendors and internal teams on resolution, and reporting or escalating issues when necessary. The E-Commerce Web Specialist is also responsible for developing and maintaining select web content, such as a marketing communications preference center, promotional landing pages, and feature pages that meet our business and marketing goals. The individual will provide ongoing client support, and continually strive to improve the quality and usability of the e-commerce ecosystem. This position will work fully remotely. 

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher, plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In-depth understanding of an e-commerce ecosystem is required, including complex integrations with multiple platforms. Experience with web development for responsive sites and knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required. Knowledge of marketing automation, content management systems, Google Analytics, search engine optimization, and web accessibility standards strongly preferred. This position also requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, willingness to learn new technologies, and knowledge of the entire organization.
