As a core member of the Institute of Politics team, the incumbent will be responsible for working closely with Institute leadership and staff with the coordination of Institute meetings and conferences, publication dissemination, and other outreach activities. Specifically, the incumbent will manage event communication and registrations through the Institute's database, prepare bulk mailings, organize event logistics, maintain seminar/program data and prepare reports based on that data, and prepare event materials (name tags, table tents, packet material).

As the Administrative Manager, is a role that directly supports the Director, and is the first point of contact for the Institute, the incumbent will assist with screening, directing, and responding to calls, photocopying, faxing, processing mail, drafting memos, letters and other correspondence, maintaining the master calendar, and the day to day administrative needs of the Director. Lastly, the incumbent's primary responsibility will be office operations, logging of expenses and payments, payment processing, account reconciliation, expense reimbursements, purchasing, student recruitment, administrative support, event coordination, and assist with student programming.

Qualifications: • Well-developed organizational and administrative skills • A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Photoshop • Excellent written and oral communication • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and maintain composure under stress • Incumbent must be able to self-direct and multi-task in a fast paced environment • Familiarity with the University system is required: Panther Express, Cognos, and Concur • Because the Institute's staff is small, it is important the staff members work as a team and be willing to flexibly contribute to the work that needs to be done in hosting major programs or producing major publications.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required. The ability to be flexible and work within a team is essential. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements.
