JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Education Partnership (TEP) provides school supplies for students and their teachers in under-resourced schools in Southwestern PA. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers embody the organization's core values (respect, integrity, service, equity and resourcefulness) and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative office and warehouse space with a clear focus on helping kids in need.

The Advancement Associate plays a critical role in coordinating the fundraising and outreach tactics needed to cultivate and steward donors and increase TEP’s brand awareness. A key member of the Advancement Team, they will implement both marketing and fundraising strategies to effectively tell our story and increase philanthropic support. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Donor Stewardship and Appeals:

  • Support the cultivation of individual, corporate, and foundation donors 
  • Oversee the donor recognition program with a focus on improving the donor experience and retention 
  • Create outreach plans and solicit in-kind and monetary donations, and community partnerships through a variety of asks such as email, mailings, phone calls, and in-person meetings 
  • Assist with accurate donor data entry
  • Supports the development and coordination of internal and external events and campaigns such as the annual TEP Golf Outing, the Teacher Appreciation Awards, the End -of -Year Appeal, and the Highmark Walk

Marketing and Communication:

  • Create and publish social media posts and oversee a monthly social media schedule (with a focus on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn) 
  • Write and publish a monthly ENewsletters
  • Support the donor stewardship needs of the Adopt-A-School program through the creation and coordination of thank-you gifts and sponsorship recognition 
  • Attend relevant events, activities, and meetings to represent TEP in the community and increase awareness
  • Assist in the planning/development of internal and external marketing/awareness campaigns and promotions 
  • Assist with graphic design projects as needed

CORE COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Advanced writing skills with a focus on accurate grammar and a cohesive, clear writing style required
  • Knowledge of social media required
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately required 
  • Possess strong organizational skills, and attention to detail, and can work independently to meet deadlines. 
  • Marketing, PR and communications experience preferred
  • Experience with CRMs like Salesforce and/or the ability to learn 
  • Ability to keep the mission and goals of the organization forefront while balancing current work priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekend and evening events periodically with optional flex scheduling
  • Embrace and communicate a sense of joy and gratitude as a part of the shared privilege of serving students, teachers, donors, board, and community/corporate stakeholders
  • The following PA clearances, or proof of application of clearances, are required beginning employment and as a condition of continued employment:
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging nonprofit professional or recent graduate. The position is a full-time, salaried, exempt position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Salary range is $33-35K and will commensurate with applicant’s education level, experience and other attributes.
