General Position Description

We are seeking a Communications Administrator (part time) who will continue to grow our ministry and reach those who may not be able to join us for Sunday worship in person. This is a new position. The Communications Administrator will work with our pastoral staff to design and execute the overall communications strategy of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, including website management and adaptation, weekly email and/or blog posts regarding congregational ministries, and posting to platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. Duties will also include preparation of weekly Sunday bulletin announcements and email communications within the congregation, including maintaining volunteer schedules and rosters. This is a part time position of 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including some remote work if desired. Weekend hours on-site are occasionally required. Compensation is $20/hour. General Requirements

All employees at St. Andrew must undergo a background check and obtain clearances prior to employment. Employees must also support the church’s mission and vision to serve all people, including marginalized and vulnerable populations. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and editing
  • Ability to design social media content that creates an appealing and professional virtual presence
  • Proficiency in adapting and maintaining web sites, blogs, email campaigns, and other social media communication, including responsive websites
  • Understanding of accessibility needs and guidelines for creating accessible content
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other such platforms for website adaptation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Google Workspace
